The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced that water supply would be disrupted due to the prevailing dry weather conditions in the country.
They said the water scarcity is due to inadequate rainfall in the hydro catchment areas and also owing to an increase in water consumption during the festive season.
Accordingly, the NWSDB said that they are facing difficulties in continuing the water supply applying equal pressure for 24-hours.
The Board said the current dry weather condition could lead to low-pressure water supply to consumers who live in higher areas.
Therefore, people are requested to preserve water and to use it sparingly for essential purposes. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
