The Sathyagraha and fast- unto- death campaign launched by the differently-abled war heroes that started opposite the Fort Railway Station by the National Force for the Protection of the Rights of War Heroes was called off after a pledge given by Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.

They decided to call off this fast when several pledges including a lifetime pension scheme equal to the salary were promised by Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa. He promised to fulfil these promises under a future government.

The disabled soldiers and wives of those who sacrificed their lives were engaged in a Sathyagraha campaign for 20 days opposite Fort Railway Station and four of them engaged in a fast unto death since last Tuesday as their demand was not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, the Opposition leader who came to the scene where the Sathyagraha was held at about 1.00 p.m today and promised to the war heroes and their wives to call off it as he is going to fulfil their demands under his government that will be established in future. Nothing surprising as this Protest was instigated and supported by the Rajapakses and promoted mainly by Basil. The next will be the Train Strike being called off Low third grade set of demeaning politicians the Rajapakses. Think twice before casting your vote for them.
