Def. Min hopes to bring laws similar to Singapore to curb drugs trade

If you sincerely do something please start with some politicians...it would be like playing with fire and killing yourself in this struggle ..22m Sri Lankans know that this was done by some politicians... Thousands of Sri Lankan mums; fathers ; and family members are cursing each day all those politicians who did this to our country and its people .. So no point making any political announcement for the sake of political games . Both UNP and SLFP have destroyed this country.. MR and co have done great harm to this country than any one else ..in the name of victory over LTTE they are given free licence to fool 22 million Sri Lankans and now we all pay the price for the wrong doing it MR and co.. Yet know one to speak out . Some don't know because they were milking MR government and can't do anything. The problem is with bad politics nothing else . Bring back the green politics and we can make a difference. without good politics there is no way this country could come forward

Very good. At last Sri Lankan politicians are waking up from their slumber. However, whether it’s a politician or an ordinary folk the treatment must be the same. Can the judiciary withstand ‘ Pakses’ pressure on this matter ?

If we're to really enforced the laws and clamp down the drug traders and their employers, we'd have to incarcerate 83% of the parliamentarians. So your proposal is limited to a newspaper article only. I might add 'THE IMF ISN'T IMPRESSED EITHER'

Name and shame them on all media. No new laws needed! Their next of kin can't go to a school, place of worship, shop, function. That's all! Otherwise, you will change whatever law, throw someone in jail for life (No! Our robed majority will never allow execution) and their, wives, children and even old aged parents will continue the drug business! They will start by throwing in a big religious ceremony!

Why not bring laws against corruption like in Singapore too?. You hand pick what suits you? You'd be better off if you govern the whole country like Singapore; zero tolerance against corruption.

Why not also bring language policy like Singapore where English, Tamil, Mandarin and Malay are official languages. Corruption is severely punished, a reasonably independent legal system (not like our compromised system), where any form of racial discrimination is officially discouraged etc. To bring these changes will result in further erosion of our artificial Shinhala superiority which is now being propped up be borrowings from India, Bangladesh and any other country willing to risk lend us a dollar

Instead of fingers, the whole hand is pointing the root cause towards all the politicians who are beneficiaries from all the problems. One such example of these problems, is Madush was killed in encounter to prevent the information reaching to the public.
