Death-row inmates launch protest in Welikada

At least ten prisoners who were sentenced to death launched a protest on the roof of the Welikada Prison.

They have reportedly begun the protest demanding that their long prison terms be reduced.

    It is reasonable to reduce their long-term jail sentences when some murderers get amnesty due to affiiliations.

    Each one of them is a killer, if anyone confronts them their instinct would be to kill. So, what is the best way to deal with them instead of cruelly locking them up for the rest of their lives. One good possibility is to follow what Britain did 150 years ago by creating an “ Australia” in some uninhabited island like Katchaitivu and dump them there with minimal support, and declare an exclusive zone surrounding the island maintained by satellite surveillance and dedicate Naval patrols.

    I thought that Prisoners who were on death row are on high alert prison cells for the sentence implies the gravity of their crime . ..but here they seem to have been able to get out to be on roof top .Welikade is a prison like no other .
