A 34-year old woman has been hacked to death while her husband was injured when they were attacked while on way to a party near the Borupana Bridge in Boralasgamuwa last night.
Police said it was a friend of the woman in question had invited her for a party, and the attack took place when they were near the Borupana Bridge on their way to attend the party with her husband.
The police said two men came in a motorcycle attacked the couple with a sharp weapon.
The woman and her husband who were injured in the incident were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital for treatment, where the woman was pronounced dead.
When the attackers tried to flee the scene after committing the crime, were caught by the residents and bystanders.
Police said one of the suspects however escaped the scene while the other attacker who committed the murder was also admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Police suspect that the couple was attacked by the very people who invited them to the party. Nevertheless, the investigation continues. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Punishment should fit the crime, why send the murdere to hospital, should lock him in a cage and let him starve to death, how did 2nd flee? Did no one see the license plate?
