“We had received proposals for water villa development. However, we could not approve as we did not have approval from the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management Department. We have secured that now,” Investment Promotion State Minister Dilum Amunugama announced.
Accordingly, the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management Department has approved a proposal to build water villas in 16 islets and to develop 15 other locations for tourism and leisure purposes.
In 2021, Sun Resort Investment Lanka Pvt Ltd won the bid to set up water villas on three islets in Kalpitiya which are already leased by the firm.
Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has already acquired 12 islets for water villa development.

Make sure you don't destroy the forest and natural resources in the name of tourism as MR did for the sake of development in his many projects..To earn Dollars we don't need to change our ecology; environment and geography... Consult some good experts and professionals before you do this

Good move. Ensure the Resorts are Eco Friendly and modelled to promote responsible Dolphin/Whale Safaris. Also accrue benefits to the Local Community.

If the beach fronts are also made private in Lanka that would offer more privacy to tourists. At the moment so much harassment's for tourists on their respective beaches by vendors and beggars

Hope all planned projects are for the benefit of the country and not because of 10%.
