Surely there would have been someone in the area who would have seen the vehicle burning or experiencing acrid smells, and could have warned the police. This is how citizens of today have been pummeled so much by extortion and crime, and are afraid to get involved.

Living in the North the only violence we saw was during the terror from the LTTE, Sri Lankan Army, and the IPKF. All other times North was and still is a very peaceful place. But the South is ALWAYS in PERPETUAL GHASTLY VIOLENCE irrespective of war or peace in the land.

It had traveled on the road, turned into private lane and subsequently caught fire. Probably the driver had fallen asleep. Need to be careful of cars, they just go on the road in the night stop itself and catch itself on fire.

Sri Lanka becoming a dangerous place to live.. All such incidents will deter tourism arrivals and investment inflows and moreover this will damage a good Will of Sri Lanka too. 30 years of blood bath is not enough for these criminals. Police and law enforcement agent must act on this case and punish all murderers if they want to see peace in this island . These crimals are damaging a good name of Sri Lanka
