Two youth aged 19 and 24 were killed when their motorcycle collided with a car near the 59th KM post of the Central Expressway which is under construction.
Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said that the motorcycle had entered the expressway illegally and travelling towards Kurunegala at around 7.00pm today when the incident occurred.
He said the expressway is not opened for vehicular movement as yet.
It was reported that the motorcycle and the car caught fire after the accident.
The spokesman said five persons were aboard the car when the accident occurred and the police arrested two men.
Investigation are underway to arrest the other three suspects.
SDIG Rohana said legal action would be taken against them on charges of violating quarantine rules and reckless driving.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

How can you charge for reckless driving, when the unopened highway is still not legally recognized as a public road? May be under quarantine rules if such rules apply.
