The All Island Canteen Owners' Association (AICOA) has decided to reduce the prices of short eats by Rs. 10 from tonight in line with the bread price reduction.
According to AICOA Chief Asela Sampath, dhal and other essential food commodity prices in Pettah have been reduced.
“There is enough stock of wheat flour in the market now and, therefore, the prices of bread and other bakery items have been reduced from last night,” he noted.
“If domestic gas and fuel prices are reduced, we will be looking forward to reducing the price of a lunch packet as well,” he said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Please keep the 10 rupees for your self we don't need that discount. When you increase Rs. 40 and 50 and give Rs.10.00 what do you think you are dealing with all beggars ot what.

Please don't by snacks at these prices. Keep away much as possible until the prices are neutralized.

Short eats and lunch packets' quality has come down drastically, every rice packet contains cheap yarns, dhal curry, tiny pieces of fish or chicken, instead of this a polsambola and rice is preferred by Sri Lankans, I wish someone would venture to sell polsambola and rice at Rs.150= a packet.

Don't worry about quality drops in any products as it's only an opportunity for a newcomer or competitors.

Price of bread should be further reduced and priced below Rs.100/- a loaf. because the price of flour has gone down drastically. Also all items such as buns etc too should be reduced and given at affordable prices.

Why should the goveernment allow this man to control bakery product prices. Why can't the consumer authority decide the prices?
