The positivity rate of COVID-19 patients within the Colombo municipal limit now remains at 1- 2 per cent after testing people selected in target groups or through random sampling, an official said.
Regional epidemiologist of the Colombo municipal council Dr. Dinuka Guruge told Daily Mirror over 500 PCR tests were conducted on Thursday, and 11 cases identified.
She said there was a spike in the positivity rate but it had dropped to one per cent.
“Before the new year, one or two cases were reported daily. Now, we get a dozen of cases. The positivity rate is between one or two per cent. We find cases mostly in the Colombo-North area,” she said. (Kelum Bandara)
