Jeevan, Sherin, Sangeetha quizzed over Thilini Priyamali case The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recorded statements from former Deputy Minister and vetaran actor Jeewan Kumaranatunga, his wife Shereen Kumaranatunga and popular artist Sangeetha Weeraratne in connection with their alleged involvement with the owner of Thico Group (Pvt) Ltd Thilini Priyamali.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said Jeewan Kumaranatunga and his wife Shereen were summoned by the CID on Saturday and statements were recorded while a statement was also recorded from Sangeetha Weeraratne on Monday.

It was reported that more than five hour long statements were recorded from them by the CID.

They were reportedly questioned over their businesses and other involvements with Priyamali, including her funding of the film ‘Jeeva’ directed by Jeewan Kumaranatunga.

Thilini has allegedly produced the 'Jeeva' film using Sangeetha and Jeevan as the main characters and a Muhurat festival was also held in connection with it.

Investigations are underway to determine whether the expenses paid to the artistes were borne by the fraudulently earned monies by Thilini Priyamali.

Earlier, the CID also recorded statements from several other actors including Semini Iddamalgoda, Purnika Peiris and Peshala Manoj over their alleged involvement with Thilini.

Don't worry, the film "Jeeva" is coming soon. Thilini Priyamali will pay all the investors/producers like Asad Saly, Kamal Hasan, Nurse Hamuduruwo, Bola face Hamuduruwo with the income from the movie. May be the other actors and Janaki Siriwardane must be called to the CID to finds out about Thico Spa, Thico Beauties etc. etc.

Well this looks bit odd. Probably cid will ask the owners of food shops, saloons and clothing store owners to come as they too may have got money from her for goods and services provided. Lol Looks like another bond scam like investigation. Always going behind wrong set of people.

Its not right to make it look like these artists are criminals. What can they do when they are merely actors of movies. U don't necessarily do background checks of movie producers before joining movies do u? Let's not let sensationalism cover up real masterminds behind this thilini and her fiasco
