The report complied by the four-member Committee from University of Moratuwa on the twelve LP gas samples, will be submitted to the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) tomorrow (01).
According to Prof. Shantha Walpolage from the Chemical and Process Engineering Department of Moratuwa University, the report will be submitted along with their views on the matter.
The CAA earlier obtained gas samples from six districts and directed them to laboratories.
Accordingly, 12 samples were sent to the University of Moratuwa for further research and the expert committee is expected to submit its report to the CCA tomorrow.
A spate of incidents of cylinder fires and explosions have been reported from several areas in the country raising concerns amongst people.
The issue was first came into spotlight with the fire reported in a restaurant in the Race Course building on Reid Avenue, Colombo recently consequent to a gas leak. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

First check the all gas cylinders for correct thickness ,hose connector, threads and valves each and every cylinder give the life time.

Our lab scientists are incapable of analysing the gas. No wonder China accused our labs as incompetent to check organic fertilizers. Non one takes a month to check gas.
