Attorney General Dappula de Livera has summoned Conservator General of Forests and his Officers for a meeting to verify the recent media reports of forest destruction.
AG’s Coordinating Secretary Nishara Jayaratne said the AG is expected to give necessary directions as required.

Why did not call the representatives who protest against destruction of any forest left, particularly that Venerable Pahiyangala thera, Mr. Namal Karunarathne, etc.

AG must also summon the complainants to ascertain the facts. If however the culprits involved in the destruction have Political backing, AG or the CG of Forests can't do anything!

CG will become the fall guy for the political bigwigs and if removed from office, no replacement will be appointed and in that vacuum even more destruction will happen

AG is summoning the Conservator General to find out how much horse shit is left in the stable since the horses galloped away a long time ago. So you can imagine how this country is sinking in the shit by the day under this set-up.
