Twelve government-related institutions, including Sri Lanka Telecom and its subsidiaries and allied institutions and Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited, have been brought under the Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies Ministry.
The Extraordinary Gazette notification (2334/07) in this regard was issued on May 30 by the President.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka Telecom and its subsidiaries and allied institutions, Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited, North Sea Ltd., Sri Lanka Thriposha Co. Ltd., Gal Oya Plantation (Pvt) Company, National Salt Limited, Sri Lanka Cement Corporation, Paranthan Chemicals Ltd, BCC (Pvt) Limited, State Engineering Corporation, Mahinda Rajapaksa National Tele Cinema Park and Lanka General Trading Company Ltd have been brought under the Finance Ministry.

That is good to stop stealing money from all these institutions..a lot of people have been milking all these institutions..what about other institutions? Our government departments are magnets for some thieves from MPs; to Civil servants..that is why we suffer like this ..timely meded move

For last 3 years this institutions not performing well. Due to inappropriate people appointed to board and higher management. It has become a burden to the treasury. This institutions must be restructure or made private. Trade unions are another course for the downfall. Potuwa union members are given special allowances and vehicles. Chairmans and their families are given lot of benefits. Hope privatizeing will give some benefits to the piblic
