3 DIGs transferred with immediate effect

Police Spokesman Buddhika Siriwardhena said that three DIGs had been transferred with immediate effect.

According to the orders received from the IGP the transfers had been made after Senior DIG, Ravi Wijegunawardane was promoted to the post of senior DIG, North Central.

As a result of these changes North Central Province Senior DIG in charge Jagath Abeysiri Gunawardane, had been transferred as the Senior DIG, North Western Province.

North Western Province DIG Nandana Gunasinghe had subsequently been transferred as the DIG to the UVA Province after the former Uva Province DIG Sanka retired from service.
