2023’s first phase school holidays are to begins on April 5

School holidays for the first phase of the first school term for the year 2023 will start on April 5, the Education Ministry announced.

According to the statement issued by the ministry, the holidays will continue until April 16.

The second school term holiday for the year 2023 will be from October 14 to November 12 on account of the grade five scholarship examination and the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination.

Accordingly, the third school term will be from December 23 to January 1, 2024. The school holiday will be given to all Sinhala and Tamil schools.

The report also said, another school holiday will be given for schoolchildren between May 13 and 24 for the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L). Letters in this regard were issued to all provincial chief secretaries, provincial education secretaries, provincial educational directors, zonal education directors and all the principals of Pirivenas.
