The third reading of the 2015 Budget was passed in Parliament with a majority of 95 votes. 152 members voted in favour while 57 voted against. The United National Party, Tamil National Alliance and Democratic National Alliance voted against the budget.
Six parliamentarians who crossed over to the opposition including MP Maithripala Sirisena and the MPs of Jathika Hela Urumaya were absent during the vote.

What happened to mass crossovers? Ha Ha Ha.... According to some new even two who have crossed over is negotiating to come back again. Maithripala committed political suicide by saying that he would make Ranil Executive Prime Minister within 100 days. He is asking SLFPers to vote for him so that Ranil can be made executive Prime Minister. What a joke!!It seems like JVP is also not going to join this unholy alliance comprising TNA, UNP, Mano Ganeshan and Hakeem (who will join them soon as he has always done in previous elections). It remains to be seen if JHU would commit hara-kiri by joing with people like TNA and Mano Ganeshan?

Power of MR.Where are the so called crossover MP`s?Where is the Common candidate on this occasion. Mr. Ranil is there at least for the vote. I recon he doesn`t have guts to face this situation. How can he be our president??

This shows the strength of the government despite the crossovers.

the thing is that... if the budget was not passed... then the government would use it to slash mud at maithripala saying that he is against concessions given to the people... soo good move...
