The police are continuing investigations into the attack against the Voice of Asia Network, which occurred during the early hours of Friday, police said.

Two employees of Siyatha media were injured in the petrol bomb attack on the Colombo office of the media network and broadcasts were forced to be suspended.

However when questioned SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online that the police were yet to make any arrests over the attack.

Meanwhile the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said today that the media tied to opposition figures in Sri Lanka continued to be targeted and it is a reality the international community must address.

In a press statement the CPJ said, brazen attacks remained an easy option for those who wanted to hit back at the government’s opposition.

“There have been no prosecutions of any of the many similar attacks under the Rajapaksa Government. The opposition media are on their own in Sri Lanka,” CPJ’s Asia Programme Coordinator, Bob Dietz said. (Daily Mirror online)

Bravo...CPJ..!! But..we can see CPJ too being branded as a terrorist outfit.!! For ,the policy of our Democratically elected Government is "You (anyone) are either with us or against us" !!

This is the work of LTTE. This TV station did not have any other enemies, except LTTE. LTTE is on the rise again. The Government should bring them to light.. Government should continue the war aganst LTTE terrorists.

SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online that the police were yet to make any arrests over the attack. As if they ever will when such brazen attacks on media take place, we know who, from past record.

We have yet to see the culprits behind SIRASA attack been even charged (although, the entire Nation knows who they are). So, will this report ever see the light of the day?
