Supreme Court has ruled that the Local Government (Amendment) Bill is consistent with the constitution, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa announced in Parliament a short while ago. (KB)

Of course, everything proposed by the government is constitutional nowadays. Government proposes, courts dispose.
