Sooner or later we have to have private universities. For some this looks inappropriate now, but, this is the trend now and it's a good one.

socialist destroy greece. ignore them. as soon as possible start private universities.
Bernard Wednesday, 03 November 2010 10:06 AM
Its not "international" but privatization is the issue.
Do you want the education to be controlled by Tycoons and public education to face the plight of "CTB"? As far as inequality is prevalent globally, private education may cater to relatively priviledged. Its not an ideal situ to glorify!!!
Hi Daily Mirror, Why you are posting only the against comments? Is it part of your policy?

It is stupid to protest over the establishment of private universities, In fact it is better when there is an another way of getting educated. If these people are protesting against the universities why don't they protest over private international schools?. At least there will not be any students strikes because you are paying for your education and not like the state operated universities. These protesters are not aware that there are private universities in many countries in addition to state operated and the standards are the same. The only difference is some pay for their degree and others not. .

These fellows just need to look at India and understand the what they have achieved through private universities. A graduate from Indian Institute of Management (IM) on average earns more than $ 200,000 per year. Which university in Sri Lanka can come close to this? IM graduates lecture in best universities in america and UK alike. People are just waiting to hire these people around the world.
This JVP is no good. I would not have been doing what I am doing today, if I would stuck with the government university education.
commonsense Tuesday, 02 November 2010 04:57 AM
I think its high time the government took a hard stance on this and put a stop to these non-sense!!! dont understand why the so called educated would want to obstruct such a move...
Tilvin Tuesday, 02 November 2010 04:53 AM

DXB Tuesday, 02 November 2010 04:36 AM
Student council not aware the need of this ,
Please consider the followings ;
Look present Huge drain of foreign exchange due to study in foreign country ,
We can attract Arab & Chinise students if we have leading private university ,
We have 100 % free education but look at the percentage of graduates , more over these graduates are only good to have leading political process with fine shouting together .
Though we have 100 % free education we are popular in middle-east to export House-maids only.
We need revoulution in our system of education.
Imran Hameed Tuesday, 02 November 2010 04:32 AM
The IUSF's and JVP's primitive ideology should crushed and done away with. It is a major hindrance in developing the contry. Govt, we are with you on this.
