The Sri Lankan crew of a cargo ship which was held captive and later released by Somali pirates, Tuesday, are heading to Oman where they will be met by Sri Lankan authorities, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson told Daily Mirror online.
The Foreign Ministry official said the crew was in good health and will be provided with all the necessary facilities by officials at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman.
Pirates released the Bermudan-flagged cargo ship and its mainly Sri Lankan crew on Tuesday after a ransom was paid, the EU naval force said two months after the vessel was seized off the Oman coast.
The Talca had a crew of 20 Sri Lankans, a Syrian and a Filipino. The ship was seized off the Oman on March 23. (Daily Mirror online)
