It's a competition between the JVP and the UNP to be more visible than the other in the opposition. Who can blame them when there is no election round the corner, they can't do a lot anyway.
pol atha Tuesday, 09 November 2010 12:50 AM
Dont listen to them. they dont have good slogan .

When they was with Chandrika Government JVP did not
protest to hike One ruppee for the worker's. Today they are playing buffolo game for the worker's. Who belive this people.
dpl Monday, 08 November 2010 04:52 PM
JVP is playing a political milage . I hope people are educated to wipe out JVP from srilanka.
Premalal Monday, 08 November 2010 03:20 PM
JVP does't have nine seats in parliment , how can they ask Rs. 9000/= pay hike.
KINGASANGA Monday, 08 November 2010 12:48 PM
I feel JVP peoples knows there will be a salary increment & they demands more than a increment. Finally, JVP will say Government increase salary due to demand made by JVP. Plc, motivate Sri Lankan rather than disappointing them.
Blff Bluff Monday, 08 November 2010 10:15 AM
UNP 10,000/-, JVP 9,000/-, Trade Unions 8,000/-. The useless opposition cannot even agree on one figure to demand!
Pawlpakse Monday, 08 November 2010 09:49 AM
What about increasing the productivity levels at the same rate?
Wimal WBKPlug Wansha Monday, 08 November 2010 07:46 AM
Can't face the current COL without a good pay rise, don't know what the World Bank & the IMF are saying.
Gayan Samarasekara Monday, 08 November 2010 08:50 AM
But, then the commodity rates will also be adjusted (increased), so that you have to demand such a pay hike again. Printing and distributing money is not the solution dear jeppas.
malkanthi Monday, 08 November 2010 08:44 AM
Yes, president pledged Rs.2,500 salary increase to public sector. Sarath Amunugama said government has taken steps to increase the salary level from 7,900/- to 11,730/-. Isn't he a responsible minister??
Ranjit Silva Monday, 08 November 2010 08:23 AM
What abour tthe pensioners don't they feel about the cost of living? Are the JVP'ers only interested in the working class. Let them not forget those who conytibuted their sweat and blood for this country.
LAL KANTHA Monday, 08 November 2010 08:20 AM
The Rs 1000/- decrease is an adjustment for for deflation.
Wara Monday, 08 November 2010 08:06 AM
This was the promise of SF not government. They said about Rs. 2500.00 only. Actually people who couldn't get into the power can give even higher promises for a pay hike. But the winning party can't give that type of promises.
ravi Monday, 08 November 2010 08:02 AM
come on! Lala!
Wasantha Monday, 08 November 2010 07:59 AM
When UNP proposed Rs.10,000/= that was promised by SF at the last Presidential election, his own party people asking Rs.9,000/= pay hike. On what basis?. It should have been at least Rs.12,000/= and considering the future that is also not enough.
looney Monday, 08 November 2010 07:52 AM
8000 to 9000....nope, still doesnot beat UNP's 10k :)
malkanthi Monday, 08 November 2010 07:47 AM
This is a promise of the government when presented an interim budget, so they are bound to keep this promise! As it is, nobody knows where the country is heading!
