It is one of the very few good things this govt. is planning to do.

mata nikang hithuna Sunday, 03 October 2010 01:52 AM

First of all give your ministers a primary education specially the doctors. Then go for AL's.

    abc Sunday, 03 October 2010 01:21 AM

First make the education ministry a qualified department to prepare question papers correctly

    Irios Saturday, 02 October 2010 11:30 PM

    That's good.

Smart Aleck Saturday, 02 October 2010 10:52 PM

I suppose Parliament will give them a free pass.

    Dinesh Saturday, 02 October 2010 06:59 PM

I hope all of you'll have passed your a/ls or at least got a chance to sit for the a/ls. He's trying to do something good appreciate it otherwise just shut up and wait. Yeah I studied in Colombo but I've seen the hell those students in villages go through, because I've had the opportunity to see that first hand. Since the President is trying to do something good better to be optimistic than shout like idiots who don't understand the plight of the less fortunate who have lesser chances at a good education.

    J.D Saturday, 02 October 2010 06:39 PM

Sir, Make sure every child is given proper primary education (with stable education system) ....b4 they go in to O/L or A/L......

Lanka Boy Saturday, 02 October 2010 06:01 PM

Calistus Jayatilleke Saturday, 02 October 2010 12:28 PM

Why not start with the stupid MPs in the Parliament who dont even know how to talk like decent human beings.

    sw Saturday, 02 October 2010 12:24 PM

Don't they have to pass 'O' Level first

    Wasantha Saturday, 02 October 2010 12:09 PM

Highest qualification or the post being held is not worth, as long as the individual or group undermines the "core values" of a society. Whatever the level of education, the need of the hour is inculcate proper values and attitudes from top to the bottom.

Smart Aleck Saturday, 02 October 2010 12:02 PM

The dropouts will have to be given Honorary Advance Level Certificates. Like certain persons who got Doctorates and Law Degrees.

    geo Saturday, 02 October 2010 12:01 PM

Is he serious or having a flu or something? He shouldnt say everything what his advisers say without measuring pros and cons

    malkanthi Saturday, 02 October 2010 11:57 AM

Good idea so that at least in the future the parliament will be filled with those have minimum of A/L qualification.

    Rajan P Soundareswar Saturday, 02 October 2010 11:35 AM

Very good idea. It is a positive move to avoid any youth unrest in future.
