Thundershowers with severe lightning expected

Colombo, April 4 (Daily Mirror) - Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur in several parts of the country after 1.00 p.m. today, the Meteorology Department said.

According to the forecast, showers are expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Southern, Eastern and North Central provinces, as well as in the Vavuniya and Mullaittivu districts.

The department also warned that temporary, localized strong winds may occur during thundershowers.
