Tharushi, Gayanthika advance to 800m finals

Sri Lanka’s middle distance runners Tharushi Karunarathna and Gayanthika Abeyratne qualified for the Women’s 800m finals of the 19th Asian Games continued in Hangzhou, China today. The finals of these events will be held tomorrow at 4.55 p.m. (Sri Lanka time).
Abeyrathna finished in third place of Heat-2 with a time of 2:07.17s while schoolgirl Karunarathna clocked 2:05.48s to finish second while competing in Heat-3 of the event. (Susil Premalal)
