Prisons Department introduces Pre-Book Visit

The Prisons Department has introduced an online facility for prison visits, which enables relatives of inmates even to have a video chat with inmates.

The online service enables relatives of inmates to book a date and time of their convenience for the visit and even to have a video chat with inmates via http://visit.prisons.gov.lk

The Department said the service, which is currently available only for the Angunukolapalassa prison, would be later available for prisons across the country.
