Oneworld welcomes Hawaiian Airlines to alliance

April 24 (Daily Mirror) - The oneworld alliance has officially welcomed Hawaiian Airlines as its newest member, marking the addition of a third United States-based carrier alongside Alaska Airlines and American Airlines. The move also establishes Honolulu as a key global hub within the alliance’s network.

With the inclusion of Hawaiian Airlines, oneworld said its global reach will be strengthened, offering enhanced connectivity across the Hawaiian Islands and expanding access to destinations in the Pacific, including Hilo, Rarotonga, Pago Pago and Papeete.

“We are delighted to officially welcome Hawaiian Airlines into the oneworld family, further strengthening our alliance’s footprint in the Pacific region and the United States,” said Ole Orvér. He noted that the airline’s long-standing reputation for service would enhance travel experiences across the network.

Hawaiian Airlines CEO Diana Birkett Rakow said joining the alliance would bring significant global benefits to passengers, including members of its loyalty programme and residents of Hawai‘i.

Passengers travelling with Hawaiian Airlines will now gain access to nearly 1,000 destinations across the oneworld network. Premium customers will also benefit from oneworld Priority services, including First Class check-in, lounge access, and fast-track security at selected airports.

The alliance’s lounge network spans nearly 700 premium facilities worldwide, including oneworld-branded lounges at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Incheon International Airport.
