Two suspects including notorious drug dealer Upul Sanjeewa Perera alias 'Datha Suda' had been arrested by the STF during a special raid at Temple Road in Dehiwala this morning, the Police said.
Investigation revealed that 43-year old 'Datha Suda' who is a resident of Peliyagoda had been operating a drug-trafficking network through Whatsapp network with an individual in Dubai.
During the raid, the STF recovered a bank passbook with over Rs. 5 million of transactions.
The STF also recovered 14 grams of heroin, Rs. 307,740 in cash, a jeep and a SIM bearing a number belonging to Dubai from the possession of 'Datha Suda'.
The STF also arrested another suspect who provided financial support to the drug trade.
Both suspects were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB). (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
