Mahinda Rajapaksa ready to return to Medamulana: D.V Chanaka

MP D.V. Chanaka said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is ready to return to his residence in Medamulana.

He said that the former President had expressed this intention earlier as well.

“Many privileges given to MPs were removed by the previous government, including vehicle permits. There’s no issue with reducing privileges. But if a President is facing threats for actions taken during his time for the country’s benefit, then he should be provided with reasonable security,” MP Chanaka said.

The LTTE Diaspora would be happy over the removal of the privileges of former President Rajapaksa. This is clearly fulfilling the promises given to the Diaspora," the MP alleged.
