Long queues in Hatton for Colombo-bound buses

Long queues were observed today at the Hatton bus stand due to a shortage of private and Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses for people returning to Colombo after visiting Hatton to celebrate the Thaipongal festival.

Passengers complained that though they were required to report to work tomorrow (21), the lack of buses made it difficult for them to return to Colombo.

Meanwhile, the depot officer said that 10 buses were allocated to transport passengers to Colombo, but three could not operate due to technical failures.

The official added that the Hatton depot had requested additional buses to meet the demand for transport from Hatton to Colombo.
