Iraj Chaminda Pathiraja appointed acting Immigration Controller General

Colombo, April 22 (Daily Mirror) - Approval was granted at the Cabinet meeting held on May 19, 2025 to appoint Mr. Iraj Chaminda Pathiraja, an officer in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, on a full-time acting basis as the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.

Subsequently, the Cabinet Ministers has approved the resolution submitted by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to appoint him on a permanent basis to the post of Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.

Accordingly, Pathiraja will continue to serve in the top post of the Department of Immigration and Emigration on a confirmed basis following the Cabinet approval.
