GMOA launches island-wide token strike today

Colombo, April 5 (Daily Mirror) -The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has announced that its island-wide token strike will commence today (05) at 08.00 a.m., following a decision taken at its Executive Council meeting held yesterday.

The strike is scheduled to continue for 24 hours, concluding at 08.00 a.m. on Monday.

During the strike period, general and routine treatment services across the island will be completely disrupted. However, emergency treatment services are expected to operate without interruption.

The GMOA said that its Executive Council will continue to monitor the prevailing situation and make further decisions on a daily basis based on ongoing developments.
