First LG body result after 8.00pm: ECSL

Colombo, May 6 (Daily Mirror) - With the conclusion of voting of the Local Government Elections 2025 at 4.00pm today the Election Commission of Sri Lanka said there is a possibility to issue the first official results of two to three LG bodies after 8.00pm tonight. 

An official from the Elections Secretariat told the Daily Mirror although they were hoping to issue first results before midnight today, the results of smaller LG institutions could be announced sooner. 

However, the completion of the announcement of full results in 339 LG bodies consisting 28 Municipal Councils, 36 Urban Councils and 272 Pradeshiya Sabhas will last till midday tomorrow, the official said.
