Fireworks at wedding claims a life in Thambuttegama
An individual who received serious injuries in an explosion during a fireworks display at a wedding reception in Thambuttegama area died on admission to Thambuttegama divisional hospital.
The victim Dhanushaka Lakmal Jayatilleka (31) of Thekkwatta, in Thambuttegama, was a motorcycle mechanic by profession.
Investigations revealed that a cracker had misfired and exploded causing serious head injuries when he attempted to light it.
Thambuttegama police are conducting further investigations.(Dayaratne Embogama)
