The Cabinet has granted approval to remove Railways General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara from his post.

The decision, taken during the Cabinet meeting held yesterday, follows ongoing administrative concerns within the department.

Any particular reason why he was removed? My understanding is the issues in the department were being addressed one by one during his tenure. There were some great work done on beautifying railway stations, improving facilities and as a result tourists had congratulated its performance. Is it the results of the war between management vs unions or the well known internal power struggle within the government? Public has a right to know.

How about SLPA ? Three completely incompetent people running it. Claim 66% higher Gross profit (not net profit) against 2024 when actually it was triggered by removal of Import ban and resulting increase of Imports and Export increase due to tariff deadline. Transhipment fell by 6.6% !! Total volume remains same for dirst half !! Trying to hide behind natural revenue increase due to removal of import restrictions.

All heads of departments have been given KPIs, and if they don’t achieve those, they are out. How many of those commenting understand what this means? It does not depend on what you see on the news. We saw lots of these propaganda during previous regimes.
