Afternoon showers expected across island

Colombo, April 4 (Daily Mirror) Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today, according to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some locations in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Central, and Eastern provinces.

Misty conditions are also expected during the early hours of the morning in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North Central provinces, as well as in the Kurunegala and Vavuniya districts.

The general public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
