Adjournment debate to be held on President’s policy statement

The party leaders have decided to take up a two-day debate on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s 
policy statement on January 18, 2022, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene said.

He said an adjournment debate would be held on January 19 and 20.

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella and UNP MP Ranil Wickremesinghe had requested a debate on the speech which will be made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on January 18 when he ceremoniously open the Parliament session on that day. (Yohan Perera)
