The 2023 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination has been postponed, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha announced in Parliament a short while ago.
He said the Examinations Department will announce the new dates next week,

I didn't know there were such selfish and foolish people like this, shouting here and there, saying, "Don't postpone the exam; tell them to do it again in 2024. They should prepare beforehand; they should know the resources." If they were in our situation, they wouldn't say things like this. Lecturers and other well-educated people postponed marking because they didn't receive enough money, driven by their greed for more. The results were supposed to be out in June, but they were only given out in the second week of September. So, who are the real culprits here? Students like us may have unexpected results. We didn't anticipate having to face this again. We're not asking for 6 months; we're just asking for an additional 2 months. Please, keep your selfishness to yourself and your selfish children. They can prepare more if they want; memories won't fade away within 2 months. Tell those kids not to accept defeat until they've faced the exam.
