Imposing travel restrictions could be taken even this evening or tomorrow, Cabinet spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said today.

He said the discussion related to the above should be taken at the coronavirus Committee meeting. However, with the current outbreak of the pandemic, decisions will be taken considering the circumstances and the situation that prevails in the region.

But the Government might take a different decision by this evening or tomorrow whether to impose travel restrictions considering the situation in India and the cooperation shown by the people, Rambukwella said.

"'People in our country are well educated to understand the prevailing danger," the Minister said.

However, given the current situation, there is no need to close the whole country, he added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

You are right, ''people in our country are well educated to understand the prevailing danger'', but unfortunately our elected members of parliaments, including yourself, do not fall under that category thus all the prevailing danger. Very unfortunate!!!!
