Update: Scientist killed in road accident in Horana

A scientist of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) was killed in a road accident at Kumbuka in Gonapola, Horana last night.

Police said the 37-year old scientist, a resident of Gonapola who was returning home in a luxury car, died after his car hit with a concrete post of a road barrier. His car had toppled.

It was reported that he died after being admitted to the Horana Hospital due to damages to his spinal code.

He was bringing flowers for a traditional 'Kiri Danaya' of his new born child when the accident happened.

The Moragahena police are conducting further investigations.(Bimal Shayman Jayasinghe)

SL please do the BASICS well before mega projects, that's how a nation progresses, in this instance a road block without luminous signs other examples work not completed creating a hazard on the road or the workers themselves in danger of being knocked down etc etc Extends to other fields as well, this indiscipline and carelessness, costs money, lives
