Forest Rock Garden Resort wins prestigious Quality Award

The Forest Rock Garden Resort in Anuradhapura has been appreciated for its commitment to excellence by being awarded the Gold award for International Star for Leadership in Quality (ISLQ) by Spanish-based Business Initiative Directions (BID).  

The prestigious award ceremony hosted at the Concorde Montparnasse Hotel in Paris saw the presentation of the award to Forest Garden Rock Resort Managing Director Baladuruge Chandrasiri and Marketing Manager Advisory Wedage Don Wasantha Kumara by BID & BID Group one President and CEO Jose E. Prieto and Imarpress Dayle Chief Editor L. Fickling. 


Forest Garden Rock Resort competed with submissions from over 116 countries for a title that represents the highest standards in quality and service. Submissions are judged based on the following criteria: excellence in leadership and business management, quality and excellence, business and brand-name prestige and technology, innovation and projection.

Thereafter, a voting process takes places to ascertain the suitability of each company based on: customer satisfaction, communication strategies, benchmarking, information and data analysis, leadership, planning and decision-making, human resources, continuing education and training, processes and production, financial outcome, business results, ISO 9000 and TQM. 

The convention in Paris was part of the BID Quality Awards Annual programme, created to recognize the prestige of featured companies, organisations and entrepreneurs. The ceremonies are attended by companies from different countries, leaders of numerous business sectors, world economic leaders, quality experts as well as academics celebrities and diplomatic representatives.

The triumphant Sri Lankan winners were welcomed at Bandaranaike International Airport hosting a special celebration. The event was attended by important representatives from the Tourism and Media Ministries, who welcomed the winners amongst a flurry of media personnel. 

This prestigious award is a boost to the Sri Lankan tourism industry and places Sri Lanka on the map as a premier destination for leisure travellers, in search of a refreshing experience steeped in culture and surrounded by natural beauty. 

Forest Rock Garden Resort is a premier eco-tourism destination. Its architecture stands 20 feet above ground level to ensure that the surrounding beauty is not disrupted and the entire property links seamlessly with the natural beauty of the landscape. The entire resort has been built atop concrete pillars providing ultra-luxury rooms to pamper and relax guests.
