Wilhelm E. Brown elected as TAASL President

Wilhelm E. Brown, General Manager of Alpha Travels & Holidays Private Limited, a member of the Finco group, was elected as President of the Travel Agents’ Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL).
He was elected for the post during the 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the TAASL, which was held recently in Manila, the Philippines. 

Apart from Brown’s election as President for the year 2016/2017 period, Travel7 Private Limited CEO Trevor Rajaratnam was also elected as Vice President. In the meantime, the following were elected to the TAASL Executive Council for the period of 2016/17: Aitken Spence Travels (Pvt.) Ltd General Manager Nishantha Senaveratne, George Steuarts Travel International Ltd Senior Director Channe Wijemanne, Hemas Travels (Pvt.) Ltd Managing Director Riza Ahamat, Himpras Tours (Pvt.) Ltd Managing Director Jude Condrad, Lando Travels Managing Director Lawrence Fernando, Mackinnons Travels (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Sanjay Weerakoon, Skymark Travels Managing Partner Rimzi Nazeer, Skyways Chairman Tillak Dayalan Wickremasinghe, Traveller Global Destinations & Leisure Holidays (Pvt.) Ltd Director Operations Omar – Ul – Shibly Shamsudeen, Hayleys Travels & Tours (Pvt.) Ltd Manager Niranjan Dalpethado and Atlas Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd Managing Director S. Paramanathan as Immediate Past President.  The TAASL was formed in 1974 as a body to represent the interests of the Sri Lankan Travel Agencies as an approved association of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and currently has a membership of 168 members. At present, the TAASL has a membership of 168 and the AGM was followed by a fellowship held at Hotel Jen Manila with the presence of the sponsors ITQ Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd.
