The Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE - 2016), an annual event, was held from 20th to 22st May at National Agriculture Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China.
In connection with the BITE travel fair, SLTPB organized two tourism promotion road shows in Tianjin & Shenyang on 18th May and & 24th May in order to create an effective and efficient platform for networking between the two countries travel trade.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau together with the local travel industry participated at this travel fair with in an area of 200 square meters. This has been identified as a unique opportunity for the global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.
SL Tourism was able to educate the public through distribution of brochures, DVD’s and promoting tour packages during the general public day, conducted Interviews with media and travel agents and promote Sri Lanka as one of the best tourists destination, conducted a business networking session with the Sri Lankan travel industry participants and the hosted buyers by the organizer.
Sri Lanka Tourism pavilion won the best popular pavilion award at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE - 2016).
