THE BIGGEST COMEBACK OF LIVE-MUSIC IN 2022: TROPICAL JAM

Colombo’s live music culture just got even bigger and better! While covid-19 cases have decreased significantly in recent months, we can see how the "night-scene" in Sri Lanka is re-emerging back to its original locality. Live music has been dominating the party crowd for quite a bit time now and we only see the game getting much stronger in the future. That being said, we at Daily Mirror think it's essential that you keep this weekend plan-free because we can guarantee that you're about to be treated to an entire day of EDM tunes and good vibes by one of Colombo’s biggest event organizers!

“Tropical Jam” is a concept that was brought to life by two friends, Kanishka Corea and Nadun Nambuge, who organize live music events that are carefully curated in exclusive locations all around Sri Lanka. The idea first struck them while they were travelling around the South Coast; they gained incredible encounters by attending numerous concerts and seeing many live bands perform in Hiriketiya, Matara, and other places in down-south where these types of gigs tend to be very popular. Kanishka and Nadun realized that, while there were bands and musicians performing at pubs and other venues during the weekend, there were no properly organized live-music events taking place in Colombo at the time. Since the two friends have always enjoyed live music, they thought this would be a great concept to introduce to the people of Colombo, and so they started their journey with "Tropical Jam" in August 2018. Since commencing this segment four years ago, Tropical Jam has had five successful shows with all their tickets being fully sold out each time and people ending the night on a happy note! Their guests are treated to a full day of live entertainment, with the best of local talent jamming their favorite tunes and providing an experience unlike any other. After managing three events on their own, the duo decided it was time to step up their game and ignite something greater within their initiative, so they partnered with an event management company in Colombo known for their New Year's Eve parties. Today, they handle and organize their events alongside their partners from Amuseum Special Events; Keminda Attygalle and Roshan Perera, as one strong team on a larger scale, with the best possible set-up for their guests to have an absolute blast in every aspect.

Here’s the exciting part, after months of patiently planning, Tropical Jam is back with an event for you! They're throwing an all-nighter at Cinnamon Lakeside this Saturday, March 5th, from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Local bands MagicBox Mixup, Flame, Rugrats, Link, and Leftovers will be performing at the event and great room deals are being offered exclusively for the guests attending, so be sure to stop by for a good time. "We've been putting our maximum effort to bring the best experience we can deliver to all our guests so we're pretty hyped up about this Saturday," Nadun said, adding that it has been almost two years since their last event.

Tropical Jam also wants to assure their guests about their safety while all health and safety protocols are being adhered to throughout the day and even at future events held. They’d also like to thank everyone that has been very supportive in organizing this concert and getting everything together as the ongoing pandemic had been an enormous challenge for them to get back on track.

The future seems very bright and exciting for Tropical Jam, they have plans on experimenting different styles and concepts via the events they host and are even considering to bring down some of our favorite international artists!
