The market endured a firm trading day today where ASI witnessed a notable jump into positive zone though MPI depicted a marginal dip. ASI gained by 37.24 points (+0.55%) to end at 6,747.91 while sensitive MPI lost marginally by 1.13 points (-0.02%) to settle at 5,998.15. Market turnover recorded at Rs.2.8bn

 Asian Cotton Mills Plc (Rs.537.5mn) recorded the highest turnover with heavy trading. Meanwhile Asian Alliance Plc (Rs.233.6mn) and Regnis Plc (Rs.181.8mn) made notable contributions to the daily turnover.
 
Meanwhile Blue Diamonds voting and nonvoting and Nation Lanka Finance Plc demonstrated active trading.     
 
Furthermore during the day 10% price band was imposed on AAIC and ASCO consequent to their notable intraday rally.
 
Foreign participation stood at 5.5% of the total market activity. At the end of the day foreign investors were the net sellers with a net foreign outflow of Rs.134.0mn
