Dull sentiments prevail

The bourse experienced a relatively dull market environment and ended in a marginally positive ground. ASI closed at 6,737.68 points, up 1.66 points (+0.02%) while sensitive MPI gained 1.68 points (+0.03%) to settle at 6,027.49 points. The market turnover stood at Rs.1.4bn.

HVA Foods Plc recorded the highest turnover at Rs.194.5mn with aggressive level of trading. Furthermore Regnis Lanka Plc (Rs.111.2mn) and Radiant Gems Plc (Rs.84.0mn) recorded notable contributions to the daily turnover while trading actively during the trading hours.
 
Moreover as at today, SLIC has purchased 29.3mn shares (16.29% of the issued shares) of Tess Agro Plc at a price range of Rs.3.90- 5.80.
 
Foreign participation stood at 5.6% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net sellers with a net foreign outflow of Rs.39.3mn.
