West Asia Baseball Cup Sri Lanka and Pakistan set up title clash

Sri Lanka and Pakistan advanced to the final of the 14th West Asia (WA) Baseball Cup by recording comprehensive victories over Iran and India in their respective semi-final matches worked off at Diyagama yesterday.


Sri Lanka got off to an early lead by recording two runs in the very first innings. 


They pulled away for good with three runs in the second innings and never allowed Iran to get back into the game. 


Sri Lankan Skipper Sameera Ratnayake led his team with three hits in five bats. The final score-line read 10-2 in favour of Sri Lanka.


In the second semi-final Pakistan scored a comfortable victory over India. 


The strong Pakistani side led by M. Usman powered their way to a 13-2 win to join the hosts in the final.
