Subramaniam to contest for NOCSL top post again

Incumbent President Suresh Subramaniam yesterday confirmed that he would present his nomination in the coming days to contest for the top post of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) once again.
The nominations for the elections close on December 14 at 4.00 p.m. and the NOCSL election will be held on December 28 at the Olympic House at 5.00 p.m.


Nominations will be accepted for a total of 12 posts, namely President (1), Vice-President (4), Secretary General (1), Assistant Secretary (1), Treasurer (1), Assistant Treasurer (1) and three members to the executive committee.
Meanwhile, the three-member Election Committee comprises former Secretaries of the Sports Ministry Dr. R. M. K. Rathnayake (Chairman), S. Ranukge (Member) and Anura Jayawickrama (Member).


Former tennis player Subramaniam won the 2018 NOCSL election 18-12 over President of the Rowing Association of Sri Lanka Rohan Fernando, who is set to contest for the top post once again.


A total of 35 national sports associations affiliated to the NOCSL are eligible to cast their vote at the election.
