An all-round performance by Chamath Wickramasinghe helped Team Triggs record a comfortable 19 - run win over Team Samuels in the final of the Richmond Champions League T20 cricket tournament played at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.

Wickramasinghe cracked an unbeaten run a ball knock of 53 runs that included three boundaries and a six and then captured two scalps which paved the way for Team Triggs title victory.

Team Triggs skipper Charith Asalanka winning the toss and electing to take the first lease of the wicket laid the foundation with Wickramasinghe putting on an opening wicket stand of 57 runs.

The separation of the pair saw Team Triggs undergoing a setback, losing three quick wickets for the addition of 20 runs. But Wickramasinghe found a reliable partner in Ravishka Wijesiri who made a quick fire 48 in 24 balls inclusive of three boundaries and four sixes.

The pair was associated in a valuable 68 runs partnership in 42 balls which enabled them to end with a challenging score of 150 for 5.  Team Samuels in their run chase despite two fine knocks coming from Thaveesha Kahaduwaarachchi and skipper Sithara Gimhan in the early stages of the innings lost wickets at regular intervals as they succumbed to the bowling pair Amshi de Silva and Chamath who together shared five wickets between them and was able to muster a score of only 131 runs.
