Rasantha named in the U-19 World Cup Team of the Tournament

Sri Lanka U-19 batsman Ravindu Rasantha was named in the 2020 U-19 Cricket World Cup Team of the Tournament, having finished as the second highest run scorer at the event in South Africa.  Rasantha was some distance behind the leading run-getter of the World Cup, Yashasvi Jaiswal of India who accumulated 400 runs, but his tally of 286 was the best of the rest, making him the only Sri Lankan to make the team of the tournament.  A student of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia, Rasantha’s best effort at the tournament came against Nigeria U-19, when he scored 102 off 111 deliveries as Sri Lanka beat Nigeria in the Plate quarterfinals.
